The New Moon in Aries arrives on the 21, a potent initiation into acting on our soul’s desires without hesitation, reevaluating our current relationship to love and money, while making changes in our lives for the highest good of all beings.
If you need a bit of a kick in the butt, this New Moon in Aries just might do it. You might need to cry first or talk things out, but this New Moon wants you to JUST DO IT.
It’s the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s the official beginning of the astrological year. Pisces season was for clearing away the crap we no longer need, for surrendering instead of pushing. Aries season is here to help you stop feeling sorry for yourself, let go of complacency, and do the things you know you need to.

The New Moon lands at 0 degrees of Aries. A critical degree. It’s the beginning of the beginning, right at the start of the season. A new lease on life. A fresh notebook waiting to be written on, or torn into pieces, whatever gets your fire going. There’s a newness here. A courageousness. A time to unapologetically focus on yourself and your desires, plan for the year ahead, and take action today, not when you “feel like it.” When it comes to making your dreams come true, you will rarely 100% “feel like it.” There’s always an excuse.
The Sun and Moon united with Mercury in Aries will help you get clear on your experiences, have more conversations about what you want, and actually do something about it. They are all closely squaring Mars, similar to the Full Moon in Virgo we had a couple of weeks ago, which may make us feel irritable and need to let off steam. Aries can be impatient. Your bold start will bring lots of momentum, but don’t underestimate how long something’s going to take, or how long sustainable change requires to unfold.
Neptune, although in a different sign (Pisces) is hanging out very close to this New Moon. We’re more sensitive and intuitive, can pick up on other peoples’ moods more easily, and can have greater awareness of our surroundings. Be mindful of getting too caught up in fantasy.
Pluto is just about to leave Capricorn and enter Aquarius on March 23. In its last degree of the Earth sign, it wants to finish restructuring what it can. Allow it to help you go deeper into how you want to make changes and use your creative power for the greater good. There are mysteries within you that might be surprising. Venus is moving away from its square to Pluto in Capricorn, which was exact on the 16. You may have experienced intensity in some relationships, or changes. Be open to these shifts as every relationship has to evolve and grow in some way.
We are also coming off a powerful conjunction between Venus and the North Node in Taurus. You may find yourself pulled towards anything Venusian - relationships, money, appearance, aesthetics. Perhaps you’re reassessing some of these, and your understanding of love and relationships is expanding.
Some fog is lifting from Mars square Neptune, exact on the 16. You may be on the tail end of some doubt or discouragement, or questioning things. Fear not, this will pass. Most fear, if it’s not related to real, physical danger, is illusion, anyway. Thankfully, Mars is forming a supportive trine to Saturn in Pisces, giving us patience, willingness to do the work, and more attention to detail.
There is still some healing work to do, with Jupiter and Chiron in relatively close proximity, but that’s no excuse to get clear on what you want and to go after it.
Let yourself be who you are, scars and all. Allow the real you to shine through. Be attracted to what’s shiny but have the gall to move through the hard stuff. Don’t over identify with pain or hardship. It’s all temporary.
